Mark Adams, a defenseman on Providence College’s 2015 national championship team, died on Monday at age 27.
“Our program is heartbroken with the passing of Mark. He was a great teammate and a special part of our entire community. Our thoughts and prayers are with his entire family,” said PC coach Nate Leaman.
Adams, who was from Boxford, Mass., and attended high school at Malden Catholic, fought through injuries during his college career, but played 32 games as a senior in 2014-15 and was in the lineup for all four of PC’s NCAA tournament games, including the win over Boston University in the national title game.
