BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Things grew real ugly for the already challenged Providence Friar basketball team Tuesday night at the Barclays Center.
Playing on a big stage, the Friars were unequivocally not ready for prime time as the Florida Gators embarrassed Providence, 83-51. The Friars struggled through a ghastly offensive performance with only Alpha Diallo (20 points) and Nate Watson (18) showing up.
The Friars (6-6) shot an amazing 18 percent in the first half and finished at 26 percent. They hit just 1-of-18three-point tries. Outside of Diallo and Watson the remainder of the team made just 5-of-32 shots.
