Providence coach Ed Cooley once envisioned trotting out a starting lineup this season that looked like this: Kris Dunn at the point, Brandon Austin at the 2, Rodney Bullock at small forward, Ben Bentil at the 4 and Paschal Chukwu in the middle.
Austin left Providence as a freshman after being suspended for sexual assault allegations, and the 7-foot-2 Chukwu pulled a shocker when he decided to transfer this past May despite 30 minutes per game sitting on the table.
So, Cooley had no choice but to go small.
