PROVIDENCE – There will be a heavy local flavor to the basketball team that will represent the United States at the Pan American Games in Peru this summer.
The Big East announced a group of 15 players on Tuesday who will jockey for the 12 spots on the final roster. The entire roster owns Big East ties and marks the first time a single conference is representing the country in the PanAm Games. Practices will be held at Providence College’s Ruane Center in July and be led by head coach Ed Cooley. He has asked Brown’s Mike Martin and Seton Hall’s Kevin Willard to serve as his assistants.
