PROVIDENCE – As the injuries began to pile up and the Stonehill Skyhawks started making one tough shot after another, Ed Cooley grew a bit quiet Saturday afternoon at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center.
A slew of injuries have dimmed the spotlight on the start to the 2019-20 Providence College basketball season. That plague continued in a 87-68 exhibition game win over Stonehill to a point where with eight minutes left, it seemed best if the refs shut this one down and the two teams retreated back to their respective campuses for some rest and relaxation.
Cooley is hoping the two injuries that popped up for the Friars aren’t serious.
