PROVIDENCE – Maybe it took the arrival of the best team on the schedule for the Providence Friars to finally play with the desperation needed to make a late run through the Big East.
The Friars jumped all over Seton Hall, nearly squandered a 25-point lead and then held off Myles Powell and the Pirates for a wild 74-71 victory Saturday night at a sold out Dunkin’ Donuts Center. The win over the 10th ranked Pirates is PC’s third over a Top 25 team this season.
The spark to the victory clearly came from Alpha Diallo.
