DePaul 64, PC 63: Friars let it slip away

ROSEMONT, Ill. - Providence College started on the right foot in the first half at DePaul on Tuesday night, taking a nine-point lead into the locker room, but the script flipped in the game's final two minutes as DePaul cut into PC's eight-point lead and came away with a 64-63 victory.

In the game's closing minutes, DePaul's Billy Garrett sunk the go-ahead free-throw. Providence's Kyron Cartwright's then drove to the rim with a chance at game-winning layup, but his shot rattled out of the right side of the hoop.

"Four turnovers in five possessions gave [DePaul] a little momentum playing at home and you know, they made the play to [Garrett] to win the game," Friars coach Ed Cooley said.
