Last Friday reports surfaced that 6’11 class of 2017 power forward Dajour Dickens committed to Providence, but the story was recanted within hours. One week later he made the news official by publishing the announcement on his Twitter page.
The feeling from the Providence staff was that, despite last week’s reports that Dickens hadn’t yet committed, they were very comfortable with where they stood with the big man from Hampton, VA. Ed Cooley and Andre Lafleur went to Virginia last Friday to watch Dickens in action, as the staff has built a terrific relationship with Dickens and his family over the past couple of months.
