Creighton Pulls Away Late

Providence was facing a stiff test before Kyron Cartwright left Saturday’s game against #10 Creighton with a knee injury. After he departed the Friars were no match for the Bluejays, falling 78-64 at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center.

Credit Providence for battling in this one. Creighton ran off to a 12-2 start early, but PC tied the game in the final five minutes of the first half before Cartwright went down.

Creighton led by nine late in the first half, but a 9-2 Friar run made it 41-40 early in the second. This was a two possession game with under eight minutes to play, but Providence’s offense was lost without Cartwright down the stretch and the Jays pulled away.
