PROVIDENCE - Creighton showed Providence College fans just what one of the country's most explosive, efficient offensive teams looks like on a snowy Saturday afternoon at the Dunkin' Donuts Center.
The No. 10 Bluejays felt a strong push from the Friars for 32 minutes but never blinked on the way to a 78-64 victory. Creighton outscored the Friars 15-6 over the final 7:54 to pick up their first win as a Big East member in Providence in four tries. The Jays shot a sizzling 56 percent and never trailed after racing to a 12-2 lead.
"This is a feather in the cap for our program and for our team to finally come in here and get a win at a place where we haven't been able to get that done," said Creighton coach Greg McDermott.
