PROVIDENCE - The Providence Friars are coming off an exhibition game loss to Carlton of Canada but Ed Cooley doesn’t seem all that concerned.
In fact, Cooley clearly relished the opportunity to watch his younger players try to rally against the seven-time Canadian university champions. Carlton never flinched, however, and beat the Friars 77-67.
The loss seemed to deliver the appropriate response as several Friars said Thursday that they realize they didn’t take the floor with the same energy and focus as they did in an exhibition win over Connecticut last week.
A repeat on the focus front cannot be repeated by PC very often over the team’s non-Big East schedule.
