New Rhode Island basketball coach David Cox is a very big fan of the Rams’ nationally ranked football program these days.
Instead of steering recruits clear from games featuring URI’s perennial losing gridiron team, Cox made sure one of his top targets in the Class of 2019 was along the sidelines for Rhody’s impressive 45-26 win over Albany last Saturday.
The recruit was hard to miss. Philadelphia native Naheem McLeod stands 7-foot-2 and is strongly considering the Rams.
Cox can’t discuss any recruits who haven’t signed a letter-of-intent but he did say he’s thrilled that the Rhody football program is offering an enjoyable event for any visitor to campus.
