PROVIDENCE — Boston University scored twice in the third period to beat No. 7/8 Providence College, 4-3, Saturday night at Schneider Arena.
The Terriers, who have now won five straight games, got third-period goals from David Farrance and Logan Cockerill to improve to 8-8-3 (7-5-2 Hockey East), while the Friars fall to 12-6-4 (6-4-1).
While both teams had early power-play chances, it was the Friars who were able to capitalize as Josh Wilkins that found the net with a wrist shot from the right circle for a 1-0 lead. Less than three minutes later, Providence scored again as Scott Conway cleaned up a rebound near the right crease to make it 2-0.
