PROVIDENCE — The Brown University women's basketball team won the inaugural Ocean State Tip-Off Tournament on Sunday with a 77-70 victory over Providence College at the Pizzitola Center.
Brown sophomore Taylor Will was named the tournament MVP after scoring a game-high 22 points.
"I'm proud of our team. When you get up to this level, you don't get many opportunities to win a trophy so it means a little bit more," Brown head coach Sarah Behn said. "For us to win this tournament is a big deal."
Mary Butler recorded her first career double-double for Brown, posting career highs of 14 points and 11 rebounds.
