PROVIDENCE - Bob Walsh is returning to Providence College.
After spending much of this summer assisting Ed Cooley and the United States Pan American Games team, Walsh will join the Friar head coach’s staff on a full-time basis. Walsh’s title is unclear and his hiring has yet to be finalized by Providence College.
Walsh previously coached at Providence from 1998-2005 when Tim Welsh was the Friar boss. He moved to Rhode Island College for his first head coaching job and enjoyed great success over a nine-year run where the Anchormen won more than 200 games and qualified for eight NCAA Tournaments.
