PROVIDENCE – Ben Bentil is a secret no longer. He’s simply one of the most improved players in college basketball.
The breakout season of Providence College’s sophomore forward hit a crescendo Sunday afternoon at Wells Fargo Center. The rugged 6-8 forward settled into a physical groove in the second half and overtime and overpowered the Villanova big men to the tune of 31 points and a career-tying 13 rebounds. The monster effort helped the Friars to a 82-76 overtime victory and snapped the fourth-ranked Wildcats’ 22-game Big East winning streak.
