BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Draped in the red and gold flag of his native Ghana, Ben Bentil enjoyed his draft night moment at about Midnight Thursday.
Bentil, the sophomore who chose to leave Providence College after leading the Big East in scoring, waited much too long for his liking but was eventually selected 51st overall by the Celtics. He’s one of eight Celtics draftees but while some of Danny Ainge’s picks won’t be in Boston this summer, Bentil says he’s ready to compete for a job on the roster as soon as the summer league schedule begins next month.
