NEWTON - The Providence Friars couldn't do what Nicholls State, Harvard and Hartford had pulled off already this season Friday afternoon at Conte Forum.
The Friars had their previously solid defense shredded by the suddenly hot-shooting Boston College Eagles who rolled in the second half to a 79-67 upset win. BC had opened the season with three disappointing losses at home but improved to 7-6 heading into Atlantic Coast Conference play.
The Friars stepped out of the Dunkin' Donuts Center for the first time in four weeks and simply didn't play well. PC, now 10-3, had its six-game winning streak snapped and will open Big East play Wednesday at Xavier.
