NEWTON, Mass. — It was an ugly night for third-ranked Providence College on Friday.
Freshman Colin White had a hat trick and set up another goal and Ryan Fitzgerald added a goal and three assists as seventh-ranked Boston College thrashed the Friars, 7-3, in front of a sellout crowd of 7,884 at Conte Forum.
It was the second loss in a row and the third in four games for slumping PC (13-3-3). Nick Ellis, a standout in goal throughout the first half of the season, was beaten five times on 18 shots and was pulled in favor of Hayden Hawkey with 5:15 left in the second period.
