Arkansas 84, PC 72: Razorbacks run past the Friars

PROVIDENCE – A season full of disappointments at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center came to a merciful end Tuesday in the National Invitation Tournament.

Playing without their leading scorer and rebounder, the Arkansas Razorbacks waltzed into town and totally out-classed the Providence Friars, 84-72. Arkansas moves on in the tournament to face Indiana, while the Friars pack away the basketballs for the year with more questions than answers facing Ed Cooley and his coaching staff.

PC finishes at 18-16 but this defeat to the ninth place team in the Southeastern Conference (8-10 finish) was eye-opening. The Razorbacks (18-15) pulled into town without Daniel Gafford, a 6-11 stud who is a certain NBA first round pick.
