PROVIDENCE — The road has taken a few odd turns but Alpha Diallo will play in the Big East next season at Providence College.
Diallo, a 6-foot-6 wing from New York City, picked the Friars over Oklahoma State and Virginia Commonwealth on Tuesday. It’s one of the higher-stakes recruiting battles Ed Cooley and his staff have won in the last two years. Diallo is a four-star recruit in the eyes of all the major scouting services and was ranked 95th in ESPN’s final ranking of the Class of 2016.
