Game: Providence vs. Georgetown (1/4/17)

Where the Friars Stood: Predicted to finish ninth in the Big East after losing both Kris Dunn and Ben Bentil to the NBA, Providence opened the season 10-2, with wins over #21 Rhode Island, a good Vermont team in the season opener, and on a neutral court versus Memphis.

Yet, PC looked the part of a 9th place team in the three games prior to hosting Georgetown in their Big East home opener.

Lowly Boston College defeated them by double digits just prior to Christmas, and a two game Midwestern road trip to kick off conference play was a disaster — with back-to-back blowout losses to Xavier and Butler.
