Tuesday night’s Big East action was highlighted by a wild game in Cincinnati. Marquette improved to 15-6 with an 84-82 double overtime win at Xavier, even with the nation’s leading scorer, Markus Howard, going down with an injury. Howard missed the final 11 minutes of the second half and both overtime sessions.
Sacar Anim scored 28 points for the Marquette, who also got a huge lift late in the game from Koby McEwen. McEwen scored 17 straight points after Howard departed with what looked to be a concussion. McEwen was amazing down the stretch, finishing on a variety of circus shots in the overtime sessions.
