#3 PC 6, Vermont 3: Mingoia, Jankowski propel fast-starting Friars

  • BURLINGTON, Vt. — Trevor Mingoia scored two goals and two assists and linemate Mark Jankowski added a pair of goals and an assist as third-ranked Providence College rolled past Vermont, 6-3, on Saturday night.
    Goals by Jankowski and Anthony Florentino 59 seconds apart gave the Friars the advantage early in the first period.
    Mingoia scored on the power play at 16:16 of the first period and 33 seconds of the second period to extend the PC lead.
    After Mitch Ferguson put the Catamounts on the board with a power play goal at 5:27 of the second, PC's Brandon Tanev restored the four-goal lead just 21 seconds later.
