DURHAM, N.H. -- Hayden Hawkey stopped 27 shots and 19th-ranked Providence College got a goal from Josh Monk and two goals from Ryan Tait in a 3-0 win over New Hampshire on Friday night at the Whittemore Center.
Monk's goal on a long slapshot with one second left in the first period turned out to be the winning goal. Jake Walman and Scott Conway assisted.
Tait added an insurance goal with 2:42 left in the third period and added an empty netter with 21 seconds to go. Both goals were unassisted.
Danny Tirone stopped 27 shots for the Wildcats.
