PROVIDENCE – Sometimes numbers tell the story in sports. Exhibit A are the figures behind the Providence Friars’ recent offensive slumber party.
The Friars, who fell to No. 16 in the Associated Press Top 25 in results released Monday, are stuck in a cold snap entering Tuesday’s game against No. 18 Butler at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center. The Friars own a 1-2 record over the last three games and easily could be 0-3 if not for a buzzer-beating jumper from Kris Dunn to beat Creighton.
