'You never know' - Rodgers to Villa speculation addressed by McGinn

John McGinn hopes he has a new Aston Villa manager when he returns from Scotland duty.

But the former St Mirren and Hibernian midfielder, in the national team squad for the Nations League game against Israel and the friendly with Portugal, refused to be drawn on whether he would like Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers to be named as Steve Bruce's replacement at Villa Park.

Former Manchester United hero Bruce was sacked last week and Rodgers, along with Brentford boss Dean Smith, Jose Mourinho's former right-hand man Rui Faria and Chelsea legend John Terry, is among the frontrunners to succeed him.
