Rio Ferdinand followed up his defence of Newcastle owner Mike Ashley on Saturday night with a message for the club's supporters on social media.
Having suggested Newcastle fans should be 'thanking' Ashley, he continued to suggest the club owe the controversial owner as he tweeted a message to the fans.
Ferdinand wrote: 'Ya clubs turning a profit, no debt, oh & playing in the PL! Terrible!'
