West Ham kicked their pre-season preparations up a gear on Tuesday as they arrived at a training camp in the German town of Rotenburg.

Intense fitness work was very much the order of the day in north Saxony as Slaven Bilic's side were thoroughly put through their paces on the training ground of local club TuS Bothel 1920.

New signings Joe Hart, Pablo Zabaleta and Marko Arnautovic were in the thick of the action as the Hammers squad trained in rather soggy conditions on the first of 10 days overseas.

The players stretched off both indoors and outdoors, then braved the weather to hit the circuits of hurdles, ladders and mats out on the training pitch.
