West Ham's quest to improve their attack this month has seen them chase Brentford striker Scott Hogan and former Hammer Jermain Defoe.

Yet the pair will undoubtedly look at previous strikers signed in the David Gold and David Sullivan era and wonder if they'll prove a success at the London Stadium.

Thirty one forwards have signed since Gold and Sullivan completed their takeover of the Premier League club in January 2010 - but between them, those players have managed just 125 goals in 642 games.

Of those 31 players, only four - Diafra Sakho, Andy Carroll, Frederic Piquionne and Enner Valencia - have managed to reach double figures for the east Londoners.
