West Ham face prospect of reduced capacity at London Stadium for their next home match against Southampton following shameful pitch invasions and crowd disorder during loss to Burnley

West Ham face a major threat of having their stadium capacity reduced for their next match at home to Southampton after four pitch invasions and clashes between players and fans during the 3-0 defeat by Burnley.

The Sports Ground Safety Authority are responsible for stadium licensing and taking safety measures. They will be present at the emergency meeting called by West Ham United following the dismal scenes at the London Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Sportsmail understands the SGSA will propose a significant reduction in the stadium capacity for the next home games and want to reduce the number of fans in areas of the stadium where trouble broke out.
