West Ham defender Reece Burke heads to Wigan on season-long loan

Reece Burke has joined Wigan on a season-long loan from West Ham.

Defender Burke, who turns 20 on Friday, recently signed a new four-year contract with the Hammers.

He spent last season on loan at Bradford, making 36 appearances, and played in the Europa League for Slaven Bilic's men earlier this term.

Wigan boss Gary Caldwell said on his club's official website: 'As soon as we were made aware of Reece's availability, we worked hard to get him here as we knew there was interest from a number of Championship clubs.
