The 67-year-old's son, David Sullivan Jr, shared a picture on social media which appeared to show his father speaking on the phone while laid down on a hospital bed.
The billionaire, who also used to own Birmingham City, had just undergone heart surgery for the second time in his life, having previously undergone a quadruple heart bypass surgery in 1994.
