West Bromwich Albion’s Matt Phillips can become a ‘great player’ if he believes in himself more, according to Jamie Redknapp.
Phillips scored the winner on Sunday as West Brom picked up a surprise 2-1 away win against champions Leicester City in the Premier League, picking up on a loose Danny Drinkwater pass, outpacing defender Wes Morgan and dinking a cute finish over keeper Ron-Robert Zieler.
It was Phillips’ first league goal in over a year, and Redknapp feels that with more consistency the wideman can become one of the league’s better players.
