Kevin-Prince Boateng is still a Sassuolo player, despite the Serie A club’s president recently saying he was likely to be bought by Barcelona following a stint with the Spanish side.
Sassuolo's Giovanni Carnevali had said that Barca were set to trigger the clause in the loan deal that brought the Ghana international to Camp Nou in January allowing a permanent transfer for €8m.
That clause has now expired and Carnevali said that the situation has changed since the original interview took place.

“I have never said we weren’t expecting him anymore, this interview was done before June 30 [when the loan deal expired] and we still didn’t know about Barcelona’s intentions,” the club president told Goal.
