After they looked down and out, Arsenal have given themselves a huge lifeline in their encapsulating Europa League semi-final tie against Villarreal.
The Gunners got off to the worst possible start, with Trigueros netting inside five minutes before Raul Albiol doubled Villarreal's advantage just before the half-hour mark following awful defending from the visitors from a corner.
To make matters worse, Dani Ceballos was shown a second yellow leaving Arsenal with it all to do. But Nicolas Pepe gave Arsenal a lifeline from the penalty spot after Bukayo Saka was tripped up in the area.
And then Etienne Capoue was shown a second yellow after fouling Saka, putting the tie back into the balance.
