Villa outcast McCormack set for stunning pay rise

Aston Villa's promotion to the Premier League is worth a reported AU $312 million in revenue and outcast striker Ross McCormack is particularly set to benefit from that windfall despite not playing for the club since September 2017.

According to The Mirror, the 32-year-old's weekly wage will nearly double to $127,000 as a result of Villa's promotion and a clause in his contract which still has a year remaining.

McCormack was signed by Villa from Fulham in 2016 but the Scottish attacker failed to live up to his significant price tag - scoring just three times across 20 league appearances.
