Video referees could make decisions from INSIDE Premier League stadiums if clubs decide to persist with VAR technology upon return to action

Video referees could make their decisions from Premier League grounds if clubs decide to stick with VAR when football returns after the coronavirus crisis.

VAR is usually based at Stockley Park but may be forced to relocate if they are unable to officiate while adhering to social distancing measures.

One option would be to have VAR in operation at the various neutral stadiums that are being proposed to host the remaining 92 Premier League matches as part of Project Restart, the plan to bring football back safely.

VAR has been used remotely that way before for Man City’s second-leg Carabao Cup semi-final at Burton’s Pirelli Stadium last year.
