An A-League encounter between Adelaide United and Brisbane Roar appeared to be heading for a 1-1 draw before late drama erupted deep into stoppage-time.
In the 97th minute of the contest, Brisbane goalkeeper Michael Theo tangled with Dylan McGowan.
Having thrown an elbow in the direction of his opponent, Theo was subsequently shown a red card.
With the incident having occurred inside the penalty area, a spot kick was also awarded against him.
