Danny Rose has been dealt a crushing injury blow with the news he is set to miss the start of next season after undergoing knee surgery.
The Tottenham defender has been out since the end of January with a knee injury, but returned to training last week in hope of playing some part in Sunday's final game of the season against Leicester.
But Rose has complained of discomfort in his joint since returning to full training and the decision has now been taken for him to go under the knife to cure the long-standing problem.
The left-back is now likely to miss the start of next season as he recovers from the procedure, which took place earlier today.
