Tim Sherwood 'lined up by friend Les Ferdinand for a return to QPR as manager' with the former Tottenham boss set to replace under-fire Mark Warburton at the Championship side

QPR could turn to Tim Sherwood if boss Mark Warburton fails to transform a horror run that has left his side in danger of relegation, according to reports.

Rangers are without a win in nine matches, losing five of them to fall to within two points of the Championship's bottom three.

Director of football Les Ferdinand is a friend of Sherwood's from their time at Tottenham together, and the former Spurs and Aston Villa boss is also said to be friends with QPR technical director Chris Ramsey.
