Sunderland owner's wife tries not to fall asleep in the stands during scoreless bore-draw with Burnley

Sunderland's Saturday afternoon clash against Burnley petered out into a dull affair as neither side could break the deadlock at the Stadium of Light.

The game was such a non-event, in fact, that Sunderland owner Ellis Short's wife was fighting the urge for a snooze in the stands.

David Moyes's Sunderland side lived up to their bill of top relegation candidates as they allowed the visitors to dominate the early proceedings on Saturday afternoon.
