Stoke boss Mark Hughes claims the Potters can challenge for Europe next season if Saido Berahino matches the achievements of Romelu Lukaku

Stoke City can aim for a top seven Premier League finish in the future if Saido Berahino turns himself into a 20-goal-a-season striker, according to manager Mark Hughes.

Hughes believes Berahino, a former England Under-21 international who was signed by the Potters in January, can follow the example of the league's top scorer, Romelu Lukaku.

Lukaku has led Everton to seventh place with his 24 goals this season.

'If you look at the top seven this year, they have got themselves together after last year, when it was maybe a year of taking their eye off the ball,' Hughes said.
