Steven Defour has admitted he did not expect Burnley to be so competitive this season.
The Belgium international, an £8million summer signing from Anderlecht, knew nothing of the Clarets before joining but a meeting with Sean Dyche and daily contact thereafter convinced him to make the leap.
Defour had feared the worst after bookies tipped them to plummet straight back to the Championship. Instead, they could go ninth with victory at West Brom on Monday night.

'I was a little bit surprised because when I was not yet at the club, I got some information,' Defour said.
