Southampton’s Boufal open to France return amid Marseille interest

The 24-year-old fell out of favour at the St Mary's Stadium outfit after a row with his boss and he is looking to part ways with the club

Sofiane Boufal has expressed his desire to leave Southampton for a return to France in the summer, welcoming interest from Olympique Marseille.

The Morocco international fell out of favour with manager Mark Hughes recently and was forced to train with the Premier League outfit's U23 side.

The winger joined the Saints in August 2016 for a club-record fee from French Ligue 1 outfit Lille after signing a five-year deal and made 50 league appearances, scoring three goals.
