It's 20 years since the then Southampton manager Graeme Souness received a phone call from someone claiming to be George Weah.
Weah was spearheading AC Milan's attack at the time, a side which would go on to win Serie A. He had been named 1995 World Player of the Year, becoming the first African to receive the honour.
Southampton, meanwhile, were in the lower echelons of the Premier League and battling to retain their status in England's elite division. And yet here was 'Weah', recommending a player called Ali Dia, his cousin, to Souness because he believed he would help keep them in the top flight.
