Southampton are in talks with the Football Association over their plan to appoint Johannes Spors as new technical director after the move hit employment red-tape.
Mail Sport were first to reveal that Spors was the leading contender to replace Jason Wilcox, who left St Mary’s for Manchester United last April, last Thursday.
But that move has hit a stumbling block due to initial difficulties in securing Spors a work permit.
However, the Saints are in talks with the FA over trying to overcome the issues as they try to formally appoint Spors into the role in the near future.
