Silva insists he expected to have a better second season at Man City

The Portuguese midfielder was always hopeful that his second year at the Etihad would run more smoothly than the first

Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva pinpointed greater confidence and the chance to settle as the keys to his improved form at the start of the season.

Silva, 24, has impressed with his performance at the start of the new Premier League campaign, helping City win four of their opening five Premier League games.

The Portugal international joined City from Monaco for a reported €50m ($58m, £44m) last year but started only 15 of his 35 league appearances last term.
