Sam Allardyce has stunned Crystal Palace by telling them he wants to quit as their manager.

As Sportsmail revealed on Monday night, Allardyce wanted certain assurances from Selhurst Park chairman Steve Parish before committing his future to the club.

But a meeting with Parish earlier on Tuesday ended with Allardyce announcing his desire to leave just days after he celebrated keeping Palace in the Premier League.
