The midfielder had gone over three years without winning a game he had been in the starting XI for, although he did not last the 90 minutes
Jack Rodwell has finally tasted victory in a Premier League match he started, ending a run of 39 winless games as Sunderland beat Crystal Palace 4-0 at Selhurst Park.
The midfielder had gone 1,370 days since he last celebrated picking up all three points with his last win coming for Manchester City against West Brom all the way back in May 2013.
Rodwell’s run included two games for City and 37 for Sunderland, the club he joined in August 2014, a run stretching over three years.
